Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

A little baking powder gives these wings crackly skin with no frying. Toss them in buffalo or honey-garlic sauce.

Why it's here: Air fryer recipe searches are up 89% this season, and football weekends push wings up every fall.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken wings, split and patted very dry
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (not soda)
  • 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Buffalo: 1/3 cup hot sauce with 3 tbsp melted butter
  • Or honey-garlic: 3 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 cloves garlic, warmed together

Steps

  1. Toss the dry wings with the baking powder, salt and garlic powder.
  2. Air fry in one layer at 380°F for 12 minutes. Flip.
  3. Cook 8 to 10 minutes more, then turn up to 400°F for 3 to 5 minutes until deep golden and crisp (165°F inside).
  4. Toss in the sauce of your choice while hot.

TipCook in two batches if needed. Crowded wings steam instead of crisping.
